AECOM is seeking a Construction Inspector to be based in Orange, CA.
Construction Inspector - Rail will provide inspection services on railroad facilities in a railroad environment. Position will require night time, weekend, and daytime work all over Southern California. Candidate must be flexible with travel for various assignments. Expectation for this position is that candidate has extensive experience working in a railroad ROW and must be able to coordinate with railroad maintenance and operations staff, as necessary, to achieve project goals. Candidate will be safety trained if safety certifications are not current.
Relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Responsible for setting own project deadlines.
Provides on the job training to new employees.
Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
Tracks quality assurance progress.
Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
High School Diploma + 6 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Be available to work nights and weekends
BA / BS in Engineering
Active certifications, or ability to obtain active certifications within 14 days, for UPRR, BNSF, Metrolink, or other railroad operators in Southern California.
Have experience inspecting railroad facilities in an active railroad environment

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $33.76 - $62.46/hr
