AECOM is seeking an Assistant Resident engineer to be based in Orange, California.
Assistant Resident Engineer will be the project second in command in the field overseeing the construction management staff on rail-related projects. Will be responsible for oversight of the field staff as lead inspector as well as providing support to office staff. Expectations for this position is to be able to take over Resident Engineer position within 2 years.
Provides guidance to employees within the latitude of established policies.
Establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.
Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends.
Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
May have budget responsibilities.
Erroneous decision or failure to achieve results adds to costs and may impact short-term goals of organization.
Oversees the administration of projects during the construction cycle including technical, financial, and client satisfaction.
Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of the planning, design and/or construction management activities and personnel under individual's direction on a day-to-day
BA/BS + 8 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Ability to obtain California PE License within one year.
Driving is required for this position
California PE License
Experience as office engineer and/or lead inspector on public works transportation projects with construction value $20M+.
Experience working within Caltrans or railroad ROW.
Excellent Communication Skills
Strong understanding of industry standard processes for submittals, RFI’s, change orders, and pay applications
Highway widening experience, Structures experience, Tolling Experience, and/or Railroad experience
Technical Writing skills
Experience writing and processing change orders

Offered rate of compensation (California) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $122,820.39 - $227,217.73.
