AECOM Traffic Engineer III in Ontario, California

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineer III to be based in the following locations: Orange, CA, Los Angeles, CA Ontario, CA and Sacramento, CA

Job Summary/Responsibilities

  • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

  • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering

  • EIT Certification

  • 6+ years of Traffic Design experience.

  • 2+ years of Caltrans experience.

  • Design Experience with Traffic Signals, Ramp Metering, ITS elements, Highway Lighting and Signing and Striping.

  • Design Experience with Stage Construction, Traffic Handling plans, and TMP reports.

  • Preferred design experience with BRT, LRT, and Rail Crossings.

  • Experience with Traffic Analysis.

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs and other relevant software programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving design calculations, analysis, planning, and writing technical reports.

  • CA PE or TE is highly preferred.
