Job Description
AECOM has 2 openings for a Program Management Director to lead a multi-disciplinary program team to support California based utility clients. The Director will lead all aspects of the program.
This position will support the SDG&E undergrounding program, an exciting and best-in-class program management opportunity utilizing innovative technical methods and collaborative partnerships to reduce wildfire risk to communities. The program is a multi-year, multi-billion dollar program with significant opportunity for growth and impact
The successful candidate will have knowledge of complex electrical system planning, permitting, engineering, construction, commissioning and turnover of above and below-ground systems. Strong leadership and demonstrated communication skills are necessary to be successful in this role. Strong current knowledge and excellent relationships with contractors, supply chain issues and construction logistics related to large capital programs in California is required.
Responsibilities of the position includes but are not limited to:
Manages a capital program of significant size and complexity, and significant financial impact.
Establishes a PMO in support of the delivery of the project.
Provides strategic plan and delivery on key client and program success; has broad program management impact.
Prepares and delivers presentations on behalf and in support of the client’s program.
Serves as the single point of contact to the client and acts as a liaison between management and clients on advanced program-related issues.
Interacts with executive level government or public officials and/or executive level clients on significant program matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Assesses and manages risk on behalf of the client.
Provides oversight and direction to AECOM PMs and other staff, client staff and subcontractors.
Mentors deputy program managers.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS in Engineering or equivalent + 12 years of directly relevant experience including 4 years of senior level leadership
Experience must include previous management of large capital programs for utility clients
Experience leading the development of a project execution plan for a large, complex capital program
Experience leading a diverse team of professionals including, but not limited to, project managers, construction managers, project controls professionals, estimating, public outreach, environmental professionals, consultants, safety professionals etc.
Extensive experience in contract negotiation, risk mitigation and change management
Valid driver's license w/ a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
15+ years of directly relevant experience
PE and/or PMP certification preferred
Experience with CA regulations
Experience with Grid Hardening and Resilience initiatives
Experience managing contractor alliances and expanding participation with diverse business suppliers

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $176,554.31 - $326,625.48, annually exempt.
