Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a talented Construction Project Engineer to support higher education related construction projects. Projects typically involve construction, commissioning and closeout of projects totaling $5M in total capital cost.
The Construction Project Engineer, working closely and in concert with a Construction Manager, will support day-to-day field construction management responsibilities and will assist a management team to successfully administer contracts and deliver project(s). This is a client site position to be based in Riverside, CA.
Job Summary:
Under general supervision of the Project Manager, performs routine duties for the construction management documentation of a project both in the field and in the construction office.
Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate plans and specifications, the ability to work with Client consultants such as Inspectors, Architects, commissioning agents, etc.
Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work.
Independently performs site walks, document with pictures and observe installed work to assure conformance with contract documents and extra work orders.
Performs quality site field observations for tracking and reporting.
Experience with typical project engineering duties such as Requests for Information, Submittal reviews for coordination with Architects and consultants with the use of electronic program management software tools and/or excel spreadsheets
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support project delivery and coordination of construction projects including field documentation, budgeting, scheduling, and closeout activities.
Coordinates responses to requests for clarification (RFC), change order proposals (COP), and change directives (CD).
Documents cost estimates and supports the negotiation of extra services/change orders.
Conducts field job site walks and prepares a daily report to document trade staffing, field conditions and construction progress.
Reviews and processes applications for payments.
Coordinates documentation of project closeout and certification processes, to include DSA (Division of State Architects).
Coordinates progress meetings between site administrators, community representatives, public agencies, and District departments.
Monitors Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for compliance with State Requirements.
Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years of related project engineering and construction administration experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
Previous experience must include a minimum of two (2) years supporting construction project execution for educational institution(s) including DSA (Division of State Architect) coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting community college educational facilities construction preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field.
Experience supporting construction projects with values in excess of $5M.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Office, SharePoint.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be detail oriented, thorough, and well-organized and effectively manage time.
Ability to travel to various job site locations.
A valid driver's license.
