Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Wastewater Business Development Manager to lead the growth of our Northern California Wastewater Practice. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the further growth of AECOM’s successful wastewater and water with established clients as well as develop new relationships. The candidate will participate in development of regional strategic plan, identification pursuit opportunities and lead specific project pursuits/proposals and be active as a principal or a senior member or on-going projects. As a senior member of the AECOM management team, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Participating in development of regional/national strategic business development plans.

  • Identifying upcoming wastewater pursuits in the northern California municipal wastewater market.

  • Partnering with Regional Business Line and Market Sector Leaders in the development of Client Account and Capture Plans.

  • Managing proposal development in compliance with AECOM policies.

  • Serving as principal or Project Manager on specific projects.

  • Participating in the development of Project Execution Planning, Costing and Staff Allocations of Resources.

  • Attending conferences and workshops to strengthen existing relationships, establish new client relationships, identify emerging technologies and market drivers.

  • Maintaining a high local and regional profile as a leader in regional waster water practice.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or related Engineering discipline.

  • 15+ years experience in wastewater planning, design and construction with at least 5 of those years in client account management and business development.

  • Proven track record in client account management, relationship development, brand elevation, project pursuit execution and engineering/technical sales.

  • Experience in the full spectrum of client service including positioning activities, proposal development and delivery of project designs.

  • Proven knowledge in wastewater treatment and conveyance systems, planning studies, condition assessments and rehabilitation and repair projects.

  • Exceptional technical skills and experience delivering water/wastewater infrastructure projects.

  • Desire to serve and lead in a deliberate, focused and dynamic team environment.

  • Excellent relationships and proven work experience with municipal and commercial clients in California and the West.

  • Strong skills in Project Management and Contract Administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree.

  • Related licensing and/or certifications in California.
