Job Summary

The Transportation Business Line is seeking a highly motivated and talented Project Manager for immediate employment in the Oakland, CA office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the complexities involved with a multi-discipline project that include interfaces required between civil, architecture, structural and systems design. This position will provide an opportunity to work within a specialized group of professionals, in the assessment and development of conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs for major road and rail transportation projects, and related underground or enclosed structures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Be Project Architect &/or Architect of Record for projects under your direction including supervision of team members, both in-house and consultants.

  • Complete AECOM’s Project Management Certification program.

  • Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and detailed construction/bid documents and specifications.

  • Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design.

  • Stay current in codes and technologies appropriate to the project under development including preparation of building code analysis.

  • Direct Bid and Construction Support activities by project team.

  • Implement and follow Company Quality Management System procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Architecture

  • 10+ years' experience

  • Licensed in California

  • Knowledge/Experience – Commercial/Industrial projects, Type II to Type V Construction

  • Technical Skills – Full design capabilities, ACAD & Revit

  • Experience in steel frame, CMU and/or precast/tilt-up concrete construction types

  • Ability to independently prepare construction document-level building sections and details, with minimal supervision

  • Ability to be flexible and team oriented, with a demonstrated ability to both give and receive direction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Well versed in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and FormIt or Sketch Up

  • Experienced with the preparation of building-code checks; prior production of a CBC code check a plus

  • Well versed in Microsoft Office suite

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Good analytical skills

  • Interest in LEED or LEED accreditation

  • Certificates – LEED AP BD+C preferred
