Job Summary

We have an exciting opening for a Senior Engineer to join our growing Power & Industrial engineering group. Our electrical engineering group provides detailed engineering services across the oil and gas and renewables sector. You will have a strong background in electrical power engineering at industrial facilities including plant distribution and substation design. The successful candidate is expected to be a detail orientated yet efficient, experienced engineer who can make decisions independently. You will also be expected to provide some level of leadership for the other electrical and controls engineers in our Power group and assistance in the growth of the business.

You will be primarily responsible for:

  • Performing Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis)

  • Developing protective relay settings and calculations

  • Developing control system layouts

  • One line and three line diagrams

  • Protective relay and metering one line / three line diagrams

  • AC/DC schematics

  • Panel Layouts

  • Equipment layouts and sectional views

  • Connection Diagrams

  • Bill of Materials

  • Cable Schedules

  • DC power distribution design

  • Complying with hazardous classification area codes and standards

  • Developing construction and equipment specifications

  • Supporting projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning

  • Grounding Analysis and Design

  • Reviewing engineering work performed by peers

  • Attending client meetings

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 10+ years' experience as an Electrical Engineer

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.), preferably in Oregon and/or California

  • Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, etc)

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Willingness to learn new skills

  • Ability to take the lead and work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Willingness to travel occasionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish

  • SEL relay programming experience

  • AutoCAD/Microstation Drafting Experience

  • Substation physical design experience

  • Startup and Commissioning Field Experience

  • Power systems analysis software experience (SKM, EasyPower, Etap)
