AECOM Operations Manager in Oakland, California

This is a leadership position within the Energy Services group at AECOM. As a leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 30 engineers, technical consultants, and project managers located in three primary (San Diego, Los Angeles, and Oakland) offices and other locations in the western US.
You will have other managers reporting to you, and you will be expected to maintain good communications with all staff, set expectations and provide career guidance and mentorship.
You will be expected to ensure training requirements are met and industry/job specific certifications maintained, including safety training.
You may often represent the group to senior business leaders
You will be responsible for resource management and setting, meeting, and reporting financial metrics inclusive of gross revenue and gross margin, both sold and delivered.
You will have client management responsibilities, ensuring proper staffing of projects, technical execution, project management, and expansion of the portfolio
You will be expected to maintain 25-50% billability during the first 6-9 months of the role, serving as a Program Manager or senior technical lead.
You will be expected to play a key role in the pursuit and capture of additional work as the business grows.
Success in this position requires a dynamic individual with high energy and motivation with an acute passion for developing and implementing energy solutions.
Critical requirements include ability to manage teams, ability to work with multiple stakeholders, financial acumen, and client management skills.
Drives execution of tactical business plans with direction from a region business line leader for growth and profitability of regional business line, implementation and execution of global business line strategy and programs.
Drives regional business line business development activities, regional client management for business line and manages regional business line resources Provides input into strategic/operating plan.
Directs the work of associates performing different tasks under the same field.
Applies in-depth knowledge of all aspects of field of expertise, along with interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Must have in depth knowledge of the energy industry and the ability to develop high quality and creative opportunities in a fast-paced and ever-evolving industry.
BA/BS plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership experience
15-20 years of energy industry experience
