The Water Business Unit of AECOM is actively seeking a Construction Manager Engineer for a 12 month project in Knoxville, TN with project support teams based out of Denver, CO. The position is full-time and includes both office work and field work. The successful candidate will support the Mining team to complete construction support services at a site located in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The responsibilities of this position include:
Provide field supervision, construction oversight and construction quality assurance on a dam safety upgrade project.
Acts as primary point of contact with Client while in the field
Assist in project management tasks
Resolves complex issues
Under supervision of the project manager, Engineer of Record, or senior staff, represent AECOM and interact in a professional manner with client and contractor representatives while on field assignments
Understands and applies company, client and site Health and Safety standards
Contractor Management during construction acting as Client site representative to provide construction observation services and tracking, such as:
Schedule tracking
Material quantity tracking for review of Contractor invoices
Daily field reports summarizing all works, equipment, deliveries, and workers at site
Main point of contact for Client and AECOM Engineer of Record
Facilitate Client and Contractor progress meetings
Proposed Construction Project Located near Knoxville, TN include:
Reinforced concrete spillways and stilling basins.
ACB and GeoWeb lined surface water diversion channels.
Earth and rockfill stabilization buttresses.
Geotechnical monitoring during construction.
Bioremediation treatment system (wetland) with 6 cells and spillways
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
Preferred Qualifications
Skills/Experience (Including any required Certifications):
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
15+ years' experience of providing construction oversight, quality assurance, and field engineering
OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
Track record of developing and maintaining client relationships
Experience in successful leadership of diverse field teams
Experience with geotechnical/geological investigation, evaluation, recommendations and construction
Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency and attention to detail with track record of high quality work products
Demonstrated strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
Strong personal safety awareness
Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility
Experience with and ability to make informed decisions regarding drilling, field investigations, and construction
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Experience with field materials testing and soils and concrete laboratory testing
Experience with construction and/or field investigations of tailings dams and mining experience
Experience with large earth moving construction
20+ years of progressive experience within the field
40 HR OSHA Safety Certification

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The target salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000.00 annual.
