Position Title Civil Structural Engineer

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, creative, highly talented Civil Structural Engineer for immediate employment in the Oak Ridge, TN office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provides Civil Structural engineering support for ongoing DOE Deactivation and Decommissioning (D&D)
Responsible for general preparation for D&D activities, e.g. sloping of soil excavation around buildings in compliance with structural engineering of building
Displays strong organizational, technical, and communications skills
Performs field inspections, data collection, and documentation of field activities
Attends meetings and communicate with team and client on regular basis
Organizes and prepares reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other data as required
Conducts site reconnaissance to examine field conditions, construction progress, compliance with contract documents, etc.
Efficiently employs standard techniques, procedures, and criteria while developing advanced methods to improve efficiency
Bachelor degree in civil engineering or related field
5+ years of experience of civil construction as a structural engineer
Comprehends construction drawings, specifications, work plans, shop submittals, and routine construction related communication
Reviews D&D designs for structural engineering compliance
Works closely and efficiently with project team, including other DOE contractors
Proficiency with Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Professional Engineer (PE) certification
Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) Oak Ridge Reservation
Experience with D&D structural engineering projects
