Position Title Surveyor/ UAV (Drone) Pilot

Our expanding Asset Management Group is seeking UAV (Drone) pilot candidates who are able to support ongoing growth.
AECOM have been delivering projects with drones for over 25 years. The team specialise in novel data capture and measurement using existing and emerging technologies. We turn data into knowledge through analytics and a range of digital solutions and deliverables. We use drones in a broad range of applications from public consultation, filming and media to monitoring landform development such as landslips/slides and coastal erosion, construction progress, and from detailed topographical and condition assessment surveys to reconnaissance surveys in remote, restrictive and challenging locations. Once data is captured with drone technology, we integrate data into visual and digital workflows using our VR and AR teams and Enterprise Licences with Bentley, AutoDesk and Esri to produce models, designs and media.
The role will require supporting the UAV (Drone) Manager in technical and operational roles in an expanding team.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
Proactively promoting and maintaining a safe working environment for all staff
Assisting with planning and preparation of site work
Adhere to the Operations Manual
Liaise directly with clients (internal and external) to manage project delivery
Prepare task planning packs and method statements
Undertaking site based duties, including conventional geomatics and piloting tasks
Fly the full range of RPAS platforms in accordance with legislative requirements
Maintain RPAS currency and competency as directed by the UAV (Drone) Manager
Production of timely well written technical reports and other deliverables
Ensure RPAS maintenance and servicing schedules are performed
Demonstrable competence and experience of piloting drones
Demonstrable competence and experience of performing topographical surveys
Full British driving licence
Knowledge and experience using traditional Geomatics techniques e.g. total stations, GPS, digital level
Knowledge and experience in processing drone captured and geomatics (spatial) data, including e.g. Bentley, Autodesk, ESRI. This may include:
o Reality Modelling e.g. Context Capture, PIX4D
o 2D AutoCAD
o Visualisation and analysis of data
o Microsoft Office
