Job Summary
To assist in delivery of projects as directed by the MDSM Team Leader, including Project Management, operational delivery and Health & Safety. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and innovative individual to lead, develop and identify process improvements, championing technical innovation and delivering best in class service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety
Promote correct health & safety behaviours in own works and on projects.
Promote and encourage the reporting of accidents, incidents and close calls on projects.
To promote and support the improved health & well-being of everyone involved in projects.
Assist in production of SHE plans/Construction Phase Plans/Work Package Plans/Task Brief Sheets as required.
Project and Quality Delivery
Act as Project Manager on projects run by either MDSM or AMG.
Act as Deputy Project Manager on projects run by either MDSM or AMG.
Instil a culture of continuous improvement on projects.
Ensure a high standard of quality on all jobs and projects that are worked on.
Participate in quality meetings as appropriate and contribute to continuous improvement.
Bidding / Work Winning and Growth
Work with the team leader to develop a plan for growth with a three-year horizon based on market trends and pipeline opportunities.
Assist in work winning and bidding for MDSM, AMG and wider Rail, Bridges & Structures team.
Ensure robust technical bid preparation.
Operational Delivery
Act as the single point of contact for MDSM team on MDSM procured, AMG and wider Rail, Bridges & Structures projects
Co-ordinate and facilitate the access requirements of individual disciplines on a project basis
Ensure that all access and deliverables are on time
Client Engagement
To promote the capacity and capability of multi-disciplinary survey team
Maintain, contact with key clients undertaking a formal programme of local client reviews on a regular basis.
Work closely with other local business lines to promote the whole of AECOM’s expertise in the discipline to clients.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience.
This is a fully rounded management role, including management of people, budget and project gates, as well as developing and building robust relationships with clients and internal peers.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and build high performing survey teams, with a commercial mindset and strong business acumen.
Enthusiastic about delivery and innovation, you will lead by example and with a long-term strategic mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
Well organised and proactive in finding solutions with a strong can-do attitude.
Experience in the railway environment with knowledge in various survey techniques to inform design.
Minimum Requirements
Provide overall on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects.
Responsible for the organization and direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.
May be the primary client contact for all jobsite day to day activities, or may coordinate with client’s resident representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of operations.
Responsibilities are to ensure assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
Interfaces with all other administrative field staff, field management staff and particularly the Project Manager in a coordinated effort.
