Job Summary

Are you a driven consulting analyst with an in-depth understanding of how data can enhance construction cost and schedule predictions in the infrastructure and built environment sectors, interested in joining a dynamic team of like-minded professionals?

If so we are looking for an experienced Associate Director to join our cost intelligence team’s Construction Economics division to drive our internal processes and data collection on projects in a range of sectors across the UK, and use it to drive growth across the team. Our team delivers cutting edge solutions in the visualisation, analytics and data modelling arenas, all of which requires contemporary project data to be captured and analysed.

About Our Team: The Infrastructure Cost Intelligence team combines project data and analytic capability with market intelligence and construction knowledge to deliver best practice services and tools covering performance reporting and capital, operational and whole life expenditure.

Job Responsibilities:

Our Associate Director role is an exciting position requiring a diverse skillset to cover the varied responsibilities that includes client engagement, work winning, management of internal developments and external projects and the technical capability to get “hands-on” with delivery when required. Due to the variety of solutions we develop, there is a breadth of work in which we can be involved, which often can include:

  • Collation and publishing of cost rate libraries such as the SPONS price books

  • Bespoke statistical analyses based on client and AECOM data

  • Inflation and indexation studies

  • Dashboard development including PowerBI/Tableau visualisation

  • Performance reporting and analysis

  • Database development and data management activities (including cost, carbon and asset data)

  • Advice, development and data capture for asset and cost breakdown structures

  • Capex, opex and carbon cost modelling

  • Benchmarking of costs and carbon

  • Development of bespoke software tools including the development and application of machine learning solutions

Minimum Requirements

In addition to successfully managing commissions of this nature, an Associate Director will also be required to work with the wider AECOM business to:

  • Embed best practice data collection into the business, which may include influencing how the market is approached in the first instance

  • Develop marketing collateral and thought leadership articles

  • Contribute to, or lead creation of (depending on nature of services required) proposals

  • Attend and participate in conferences and industry events

  • Manage internal R&D for product and service developments

  • Keep abreast of relevant technological and market developments

  • Participate in leadership meetings and assist steering the overall growth of the cost intelligence discipline within AECOM

  • The role offers ready exposure to new areas of study and research and travel opportunities around the UK, with opportunities to work abroad also available.

  • Bachelors of Degree in Engineering filed
