Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Coastal GIS Specialist to be based in North Charleston, SC.

This position is expected to begin in June 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Works under direct supervision.

  • Uses concepts, practices and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients.

  • Performs tasks of limited scope and complexity.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a GIS-related field.

  • Must possess a Valid Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity working with online mapping platforms and applications

  • Knowledge of and interest in coastal processes and geography including flooding, erosion, sea level rise, shoreline protection, etc.

  • Knowledge of working across remote networked storage environments

  • Knowledge of coastal datasets including Digital Elevation Models (DEM’s), LiDAR, bathymetric survey data, flood modeling data, shorelines, aerial imagery, or other hydrographic data

  • Demonstrated knowledge with ESRI mapping products including ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap.

  • Understanding of relational database organization, design, and functionality

  • Demonstrated knowledge in the processing and analysis of raster and vector geospatial data

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cartographic design and production concepts and principles

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate in both verbal and written form.
