Job Summary
AECOM is seeking Site Surveyor in our Raleigh, NC office.
Responsibilities of the position includes, but not limited to:
Work as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topography, and hydrography surveys for clients.
Set-up and operate survey equipment, including total-station, data-collector, level, and GPS
Available to work in bodies of water such as rivers and streams.
Collect information with survey teams regarding measurement of distance, directions, angles between points and elevations of points, lines and contours on, above, and below the earth’s surface
Records the results of surveys, verifies the accuracy of data, and prepares plots, maps, and reports using
Ability to accurately read and interpret drawings and blueprints
Thorough understanding of the equipment and technology for surveying activities, including GPS
Perform survey calculations.
Perform all aspects of stakeout and locations surveys using applicable survey equipment.
Maintain survey equipment used and keep survey truck stocked with necessary supplies and tools.
Coordinate work of assigned subordinate personnel.
Assist and train personnel in lower-level positions.
Make accuracy and calibration checks and adjustments on equipment used.
Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and technician regarding project schedule and work progress
Interact professionally with client representative and landowners
Field work deployments up to 12 days (typically 5-10 days on average)
Valid Passport encouraged
Willingness to deploy to project locations via flying and or long-distance driving
OSHA 10 (General Industry) training encouraged
Indoor/Outdoor work which can include lifting/carrying 51-100 lbs.

Minimum Requirements
BA/BS + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education,
Demonstrated experience with field procedures for performing boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
Ability to work outside in all seasons.
Travel and overtime required.
Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in boundary, topographic and as-built site surveys
Experience working with route surveys - IE: gas, power, water, sewer
Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) license preferred
College or technical courses in mathematics and surveying
Experience with Trimble equipment is preferred
Prior Instrument Operator experience preferred
Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude
