Position Title Watertight Closure Technician / Engineering Technician I

AECOM is actively seeking a Watertight Door Repair Technician to provide watertight closure assessment and repairs on Coast Guard vessels. Work performed on Coast Guard vessels requires travel. The position will be based out of the Norfolk, VA office, but most watertight closure repair visits are conducted outside of the Norfolk VA area. Position may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.
Essential Responsibilities: Primary skills required are in water closure assessment and repair skills can be provided to candidates with some previous Damage Control training.
Perform assessment and repair to various water tight doors, hatches and scuttles.
Provide instructional repair for Coast Guard Damage Control Petty Officers.
Provide assessment debriefs to ship forces.
Support management, organizational and business tasks, consults as an SME to solve complex problems in technical areas.
Provide expert technical analyses and advice in specific technical areas to support management, organizational and business decisions.
Establish and maintain a filing system, databases and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication and other engineering tasks as needed.
Provide technical data and evaluation for components, equipment and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout and contract requirements.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested
Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of job-related experience or equivalent
Excellent communications and analytical skills
Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
Position requires travel
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
