AECOM Submarine HM&E Technician (A-Gang) in Norfolk, Virginia

AECOM is actively seeking a submarine Hull, Mechanical, Electrical (HM&E) Engineering Technician to join our Norfolk, VA team. This position will sit onsite at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC)
Provide technical assistance, assessment, inspections, corrective actions and groom support for submarine Hull, Mechanical and
Conduct cold/hot checks to determine equipment condition
Identify parameters that are out of specification and provide recommend corrective actions
Observe operation of the equipment by ship’s force to witness the full range of performance
Operate the appropriate measuring equipment to obtain data for evaluation
Evaluate the findings of the cold checks and operational checks and make adjustments and repairs.
Provide technical support during modernization efforts, to include equipment disassembly, removal of obsolete equipment. Disassemble, install and test new equipment.
Provide On the Job Training to ships force as part of the assessment repair process.
Provide written visit debrief/reports as required.
Specialized Experience: Three years full-time engineering experience in the operation, maintenance, installation, test and/or repair of submarine mechanical and or electrical and/or electronic systems/equipment. Experience in evaluating the material condition of ship systems and implementing corrective action
General Experience: Five years of full-time technical experience in the design, installation, test, or repair of mechanical/electrical/electronic or mechanical systems/equipment
Experience with mechanical systems to include any of the following: rudder, stern planes, fairwater planes, bow planes hydraulic systems, Oxygen Generators, Motor Generators, CO2 Scrubber and Burners, Reduction Gears, Hatches and Escape Trunks, Ventilation, Lube Oil, Ballast Tank Valves, Anchor Capstans.
Experience must have been obtained while serving onboard U.S. Naval Submarines.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
