AECOM Interior Designer in Norfolk, Virginia

Job Summary

AECOM's Buildings + Places, is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Interior Designer to join our Norfolk, VA team.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • As part of a team create and develop design and technical solutions for Interior Architecture projects in response to client needs.

  • Gather Space Programming information, and develop a space and functional program.

  • Prepare designs, renderings, sketches, diagrams, schematic and working drawings to illustrate design solutions.

  • Develop and document details to communicate design intent.

  • Edit specifications.

  • Develop, adapt, or modify design features and details under the direction of a project manager, project designer, or project architect.

  • Select and specify finish materials and furniture.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • 4+ years of related experience

  • Fluency with Revit Architecture software.

  • Knowledge of 3D computer modeling programs including Sketch-Up, Rhino, or similar programs is important, along with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office capabilities.

  • Knowledge of project design and construction document production, standard construction techniques and principals.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to interact with senior representatives of client organizations.

  • Candidates must provide a portfolio or work samples with their application

Preferred Qualifications

  • Corporate workplace experience desirable, including a working knowledge of all phases and aspects of Corporate workplace projects.

  • Sustainability, resiliency, and/or climate adaptation a plus; LEED credentials desirable.

  • Professional registration as an Architect, or certification as an Interior Designer a plus. Candidates working toward those goals will also be considered
