Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking Electronics Technician for MARMC Code 281 technical support and assistance to assess, inspect, and correct system faults in Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) (USQ-208), Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS) (AN/USQ-153V(X) and other C2I systems/equipment for which qualified. Contractor shall identify and correct anomalies associated with installation, operation, maintenance, and connectivity problems..

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Provide onboard maintenance training as part of the Fleet Technical Assistance Process to ship’s force technicians in the operation, repair, maintenance, and logistics support of listed systems.

  2. Perform functional checks, program review, assessments, and inspections for C2I systems.

  3. Assist Ship's Force technicians and government personnel to analyze and resolve malfunctions identified during equipment operation and testing.

  4. Analyze equipment review and inspection data to determine source of fault, and recommend repair, replacement or other corrective action.

  5. Assist with the installation of engineering changes toward improving quality and reliability and to facilitate installation, maintenance and repair.

  6. Report findings/discrepancies as required via TAAS, Maintenance Action Forms, written / electronic de-brief and/or write a Technical Assistance Visit Report (TAVR) Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ full-time hands-on technician level experience within last 10 years in assembly, installation, testing, troubleshooting, assessment and repair of the following systems:

  • AN/USQ-208 CANES

  • SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years full time hands-on technician experience within last 5 years in assembly, overhaul, repair, modification, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of shipboard Combat ASW, USW, MIW or C4I systems.

  • Position requires the ability to work onboard US Navy ships and access ship repair industrial facilities.

  • Position may require travel.

  • Position requires an active Security Clearance and ability to obtain a Common Access Card.

Preferred Qualifications

A preferred candidate will be able to:

Demonstrate specific experience gained in the troubleshooting, repair and assessment on the following systems/equipment:

  1. Fiber Attached Storage (FAS)

  2. EMC Storage/Backup Solution

  3. Operation Rolling Tide (ORT)

  4. Windows Server Update Service (WSUS)

  5. AN/UYQ-96 Computer Network Defense/Operating System Environment (CND/OSE)

  6. Host Based Security System (HBSS)

  7. Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS)

  8. Combined Enterprise Regional Exchange Information System (CENTRIX)

While not required, attainment of special electronic repair skills / certifications such as basic soldering, wire-wrap, connectorization, fiber optics, etc. may be more advantageous.
