You can do all this with AECOM in Newcastle. We have a unique opportunity for a Senior Environmental Scientist or Senior Environmental Engineer to join our Ground Remediation Services Team based in Newcastle and to take the next step in their career.
This position will provide experience and a greater level of responsibility working on a diverse array of high profile, major infrastructure assessment projects across a range of sectors, including Department of Defence, mining, transport (road/rail/ports/air), water utilities, energy, oil and gas, and urban renewal property sectors.
Working amongst a team of peers and alongside our clients, while learning first-hand from our in-house national and international senior advisors and technical leaders. You will primarily assist with fieldwork and reporting aspects of multiple concurrent contamination investigations and remediation projects of varying size and complexity.
You will be required to multi-task, support and lead bids, deliver technical reports independently, lead field teams, supervise remediation works, manage subcontractors and liaise with our clients.

Preliminary and Detailed Site Investigations
Due Diligence Assessments
Data Management and Digital Reporting
Remedial Action Plans
Site Validation Reports
Waste Classifications
Site supervision and contractor management during remedial works project management / contract administration

Qualifications
Flexibility and a pro-active attitude will be key to your success in supporting the Newcastle office and the wider AECOM business. You will have demonstrable qualifications and experience, including some or all of the following:
Experience in preliminary and detailed site investigations for soil, vapour, and groundwater
Experience in data management software (ESDAT / Equis) and preparation of environmental reports
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Project management experience.
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science, engineering, geology, or earth science
