Job Description

AECOM’s Digital Engineering team is a well-established group that focuses on delivering BIM, CAD, GIS analytics and visualisation services across an array of exciting multi-discipline infrastructure projects.

We currently have an opportunity for a Digital Engineering Coordinator to be based in Newcastle, NSW... right next to Newcastle Interchange.

You will be joining the largest Digital Engineering team in Australia - an innovative, market leading team experienced in delivering many of the best projects across NSW, ANZ and Globally by utilising the latest technologies, processes, and systems to help "Invent the future".

To be successful in this role, you will have experience coordinating the digital component of projects, the ability to guide teams through the accurate authoring of drawings and models in a timely and efficient manner which ultimately improves the service offered to our clients. Strong data management along with effective communication skills are essential.

  • DE coordination of Civil Infrastructure projects with the DE team, including model federation, clash detection and data management

  • Automation of workflows and design tools to help make the wider DE & Engineering teams more efficient

  • Distribution of digital documents

  • Coordination of IM submissions, construction models and schedules for projects

  • Implementation of DEXP’s

  • Assist with Design coordination meetings using DE platforms to both internal and external teams

  • Provide support to project teams on IM and ensure that design models and associated documentation are incorporated.

Tasks will include developing Digital Engineering Execution Plans (DEXP’s) and ensuring project conformance, managing digital database systems such as BIM360 & ProjectWise, and embracing new workflows within programs used widely around the business

Qualifications

As a Digital Engineering Coordinator, we would expect someone to possess the following:

  • Excellent communication skills, be driven by outcomes, have a conscientious and detailed approach, along with a positive and pro-active approach to supporting the team.

  • The ability to multi-task and work well under pressure to meet deadlines independently or within a team environment.

  • Strong understanding of BIM / IM / Digital Engineering practices and processes and an ability to coordinate with the Digital Engineering group, engineers and project teams.
