Job Description

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a ‘Construction Project Engineer’ to join our Civil Infrastructure team.

The position will be based on site and will ensure that the Construction is completed to the approved design and specifications, with a safety-first focus

At AECOM, you will have the opportunity to be challenged in working on large scale, multi-million-dollar civil infrastructure projects, taking responsibility for ensuring that the design and construction comply with the contract and coordinating resolution of issues during construction. The role will ensure that the design and construction achieve key objectives and meet the needs of our Client. The position will be the primary point of contact for both internal and external project stakeholders.

You will be working with other driven professionals who are passionate, smart, creative, curious and quirky but proud to be part of a company that is dedicated to delivering a better world.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing overall Supervision and Contract Administration to major infrastructure projects including assisting in establishing project specific objectives and procedures and then ensuring they are followed by a team of site Engineers and Surveillance Officers.

  • Providing technical direction and guidance to the site team, maintaining close client and Contractor interface, and ensuring all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with the design and Specifications before preparing certificates of compliance.

  • The primary point of contact for both internal and external project stakeholders.

Qualifications

As a Construction Project Engineer in the team, you will participate in project delivery onsite. You will be an active contributor within the Independent Verification team – influencing the team’s success.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar.

  • Substantial proven experience working on major infrastructure projects in a senior role.

  • Ideally 10 years’ experience of working on site on major infrastructure projects.

  • The ability to confidently manage complex and sensitive consultations with Clients and Contractors

  • Have a level of understanding of a diverse range of engineering disciplines, such as Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, MEP, Systems, etc. to aid in conversations

  • Chartered Engineer status preferable
