Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a bright and highly motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer H&H Modeler for employment in the Newark, DE office, for work with the hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality analysis group. Work involves numerous water/wastewater/stormwater projects locally, throughout the U.S, and abroad. Projects will expose the engineer to a wide range of interesting applications under the supervision of some of AECOM’s foremost experts in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Water system distribution system modeling

  • Hydraulic transient (surge) analysis

  • Hydraulic analysis of water and wastewater treatment facilities

  • Coastal and river modeling

  • Wastewater and stormwater collection system modeling

  • Computational fluid dynamics

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental engineering with an emphasis in water/waste water or other related field required

  • 2+ years of directly related experience or and advanced degree: MS, PhD

  • Ability to present and manipulate data in MS-Excel

  • Familiarity and interest in hydrologic and hydraulic concepts

  • EIT/FE or ability to get within 1 year of employment

  • Strong technical writing skills as well as strong communication skills

  • Relocation benefits are not provided for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field

  • Previous experience with H&H modeling (either professionally or through coursework)

  • Ability to manipulate and present data in database management software (Access, SQL Server, Oracle)

  • Programming skills in Visual Basic, Python, C++, MatLab

  • Willingness to travel

  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, EPA SWMM, EPANET, or other Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
