Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Sr. Geotechical Engineer to serve as a technical advisor on transportation projects in and around New York City, NY and NYC Metro area.
This role is available immediately.
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or related + 6 years of related experience and/or education or demonstrated equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
NY PE
Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering
10+ years of experience preferred but not required
Experience with NYSDOT, and NJDOT
Ability to prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction documents
Has competent analysis/design experience with slope stability (Computer software – Slope W), retaining walls, shallow and deep foundations (Computer Software: APile, Group, Lpile), experience with Seepage analysis (Computer software: SeepW), settlement analysis, Bulkhead and Support of Excavation Analysis.
Strong computer skills including extensive knowledge of technical software; PLAXIS or MIDAS preferred

Offered rate of compensation (New York City locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $130,000-145,000.
