AECOM Senior Project Engineer in New York, New York

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Engineer in the New York, NY office for our East Side Access project. The East Side Access project is currently the largest transportation project underway in the United States. This is the first expansion project of the Long Island Rail Road in over 100 years.

Incumbent will assist the Construction Manager (CM) or Deputy CM, where applicable, with on-site resolution of track work focusing on technical and construction related issues through direct interface with Contractor, inspectors and designers. This position will report to and support the CM, Deputy Construction Manager where applicable.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists CM/DCM with resolution of construction and technical issues in the field

  • Liaises with Safety manager and Lead Inspector for resolution of safety issues

  • Coordinates with Lead Inspector to resolve Deficiency Notices and other quality issues

  • Assists Lead Inspector in maintenance of record and as built drawings and change tracking; and with management of track work inspectors

  • Reviews inspectors shift reports and other records for accuracy

  • Coordinates with Office Engineers regarding progress photos and documents needed to support construction progress meetings and reports

  • Coordinates with Cost/Schedule Engineers for reporting of construction progress, including cost and schedule status

  • Assists in review of progress payment requisitions and invoices

  • Assists with identification, tracking and resolution of issues

  • Liaison with other disciplines

  • Assist with preparation of weekly, monthly and ad hoc technical reports and resolution of claims

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the CM

Please note this is a C-req for an awarded project that has a fluctuation in their demands for this role.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in track work design and construction

  • Logistics, planning and/or direct design and construction/engineering experience in CM office

  • Experience using Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • P.E., Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or equivalent

  • Experience with Expedition or equivalent software

  • Valid Driver's license
