AECOM Resident Engineer / Construction Manager in New York, New York

AECOM is seeking Resident Engineers and Construction Managers who have a background in Electrical, Communications and/or Security Systems to support its Construction Management Teams working in the NYC Metropolitan area on public transit and commuter rail systems. Candidate will work on the installation, inspection and commissioning of Communications and Fiber Optics Systems, Security related systems, PA/CIS, Help Point, Access Nodes/Application Nodes, CCTV system and fire alarm systems. Construction Managers tasks include:
Planning, coordination and inspection and construction management activities and assignments of all direct reporting staff to ensure efficient utilization of staffing.
Balance work in the project office with the senior management team and also provide supervision of the field inspection teams working nights and weekends.
Interface with multiple contractors to ensure coordination of construction activities and acquisition of force account support staff with multiple transit and railroad agencies in a timely manner to meet aggressive project schedules.
Evaluate, resolve and provide solutions to contractors and construction inspectors for constructability issues encountered at construction sites.
Responsible for the timely and efficient acquisition of transit and railroad force account resources to support the ongoing construction.
Candidates will review and provide responses to RFIs, review documents and submittals for conformance to the NYCT requirements with specific attention to electrical /comms and systems.
Coordinate, follow-up, provide input and during shop drawing/submittal review, construction, and testing, commissioning, final completion and closeout phases.
Provide overall management administration to project and assist in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalent.
5 years experience directly related to electrical and communications/ security systems.
Bachelors degree in Electrical and/or Communications Engineering preferred.
Licensed P.E. preferred
