The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope for the respective specialty
Perform work which involves conventional engineering practice, but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements
Maintain effective liaison with the client as needed
Initiate and complete the correction of any conditions which may adversely affect the completion of the project on schedule and within budget
Keep abreast of new scientific methods and developments in his/her specific field
Oversee & supervise assigned departmental personnel on projects and monitor their individual technical performance, providing guidance and direction, as needed.
Take necessary actions to ensure the project proceeds on schedule and within budget limitations
Review shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs)
Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
5+ years of experience in design of transportation, aviation, marine, industrial facilities as well as buildings
Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit 3D modeling, Power System Analysis Software
Expertise includes high tension service substation design, medium and low voltage power distribution, system protections, breakers and motor controls, lighting design, fire alarm design and low voltage design
10+ years of experience
