Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Architect to be based in our New York Metro office.

The job being advertised is for a lead Design Manager for a multi-billion dollar project in New York . As the Project Management Consultant (PMC) Design Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the building designs by the selected Design-Build team. You will manage and instruct the selected Design-Build team and external consultants whilst reporting to internal stakeholders.

The Senior Architect will be responsible for the following items:

  • Ensuring that all designs and systems are designed in compliance with defined project requirements and goals

  • Support the delivery of the work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost

  • Coordinate the review of design submittals, design presentations, and design charrettes with internal project stakeholders

  • Manage design review process with authorities having jurisdiction

  • Evaluate design-builder progress against scope, quality, schedule cost and implement corrective action as needed.

  • Management of the multidisciplinary design elements of the buildings, tracking designer technical performance and making appropriate technical responses

  • Coordinate Subject Matter Expert advice

  • Provide technical design guidance and review integration of the designs with other design packages.

  • Ensure that the design documentation covers the scope of work required by the Client and is produced to agreed standards, schedule and budget

  • Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key issues and effectively contribute to the project’s technical planning process

  • Ensure that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and quality controls applied

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • BA/BS plus six (6) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Architecture License is required for this position

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Client side or Owners Rep experience

  • Design-Build experience

  • Experience working with New York agencies is a plus

  • Experience working on large, complex projects is a plus

  • Relocation is not available for this position

  • This position requires the selected individual to work in the office on a daily basis

Offered rate of compensation (New York locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000.
