The Transportation Business Line is actively seeking a highly talented Senior Project Manager for immediate employment in the southeast region of the United States. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in the transportation highway and bridge industry and have a successful track record of major transportation program management. The applicant will have demonstrated experience in developing teams and approaches to winning and executing major projects, including projects completed using alternative delivery approaches. The position will report to the North American Transit Sector Leader or Alternative Delivery or Surface Transportation and will work in a matrix organization, with local transportation and operations staff, regional leadership, and national transportation business line executives to assist in winning and delivering new AECOM work with major transit clients across North America. The focus will be on client capital program delivery requiring complex coordination across multiple systems and processes. The position also requires the ability to lead teams to successfully execute and deliver projects working with construction contractors under alternative delivery and design/build methodologies.
This is a high profile position requiring management of multi-disciplinary teams required to deliver complicated highway and bridge roadways, facilities, highway toll systems, structures, tunnels, and stations, and maintenance and storage facilities and/or capacity expansion. The objective of the position is to develop and execute work required to deliver client programs within established and agreed budgets and schedules, thereby expanding AECOM’s reputation as the preferred transportation engineer consultants.
The Senior Project Manager provides strategic plan and delivery on key client and program success; has broad program management impact; prepares and delivers presentations on behalf and in support of the client’s program; serves as the single point of contact to the client and acts as a liaison between management and clients on advanced program-related issues; interacts with executive level government or public officials and/or executive level clients on significant program matters often requiring coordination between organizations and assesses and manages risk on behalf of the client.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work with the National Transportation Business Line leadership team, Area and Regional Executives (operations and business development), the Transportation Regional Business Line Leader (RBLL), and area Business Development Leads on development and execution of significant project pursuits and delivery
Formulate and execute project opportunity capture strategies, including teaming and positioning for major pursuits and identification of required staff resources to win and effectively deliver projects across North America, including supporting the Public-Private Partnerships (P3) advisory (owner’s side) and P3 delivery (private side) services businesses
Establish relationships with both external and internal clients and customers, including industry associations and other potential consultant team members and construction contractors
Be a visible leader and trusted advisor to clients by promoting AECOM’s values both internally and externally
Bachelor's degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline
15 + years of project and client management experience as well as proven success managing multiple programs
Proven track record with large client program management, pursuit execution, and multidisciplinary team management
Experience in client prepositioning activities, team (internal and external partners) and proposal development
Experience in leading design teams while coordinating with construction contractors to successfully execute and deliver alternative delivery (including Design/Build) projects
Familiarity with local and federal funding and project development requirements
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Valid Driver’s License required
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
PE and PMP preferred
