AECOM VP, Strategic Projects Delivery - NY Metro in New York City, New York

Job Summary

  • Support the business development activities of the region by leading the pursuit and development of proposals and presentations for program management, design and design- build / P3 services for transportation clients.

  • Lead negotiations of contractual and financial agreements with clients and sub-consultants.

  • Serve as the principal-in-charge or project manager on large -scale projects with a CAPEX of $500M+ for key clients including NYSDOT, PANYNJ & MTA.

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams of in-house engineers and architects as well as a multitude of subconsultants towards the execution of large projects.

  • Advise transportation clients on procurement strategies and development of technical and contractual provisions for design- build projects as well as the ability to lead the design of such projects as part of a design- build team.

  • Promote technical excellence and quality in execution of projects and interface directly with the structural department manager to mentor staff and enhance the caliber of bridge talent in the region.

  • Mentor AECOM technical teams to develop creative design solutions and adapt to the culture of design- build.

Minimum Requirements

  • 15 years of experience in the design and management of large transportation projects

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field of study from an accredited university.

  • Professional engineering license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 20 years of experience in the design and management of large transportation projects in the NY Metro area.

  • Solid technical background in structural engineering with emphasis on bridge design.

  • Significant experience in design-build projects as the owner’s representative or leading the design for contractors in delivering high profile, landmark transportation projects.

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to interact with people on all levels of the organizations. Confidence in making presentations to the clients, members of the community and the public at large.

  • Professional engineering license in New York & New Jersey.
