AECOM Senior Project Manager - Structures in New York City, New York

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Vice President / Sr. Project Manager – Structures

This position will have overall responsibility for the civil and / or structural design and coordination of technical issues among various disciplines on transportation projects involving highways, bridges and transit/rail structures and facilities. Depending on the scope, size and nature of the projects, the position may serve as Senior Project Manager and / or Lead Engineer. The position may also serve as the Account Manager with responsibility for managing relationships with clients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of projects from condition inspection and concept development, analysis through development of final contract documents

  • Serve as the Client Account Manager for major clients in NY Metro

  • Provide technical support during the construction phase

  • Coordinate the technical content of the project with various disciplines and supervise the subconsultants

  • Interface with clients at meetings to discuss and coordinate the design

  • Manage and lead the overall project including technical, financial, schedule, and client satisfaction

  • Report to the senior management on the projects status on a regular basis

  • Establish scope, work plan and work schedule and ensure this is communicated to the Project Staff and Department Managers

  • Comply with company’s safety awareness program and policies

  • Manage groups of engineers, designer and/or specialists towards development of design documents and contract deliverables with minimal guidance or supervision

  • Assure conformance with contractual obligations by ensuring that contract documents are reviewed and approved prior to release to the client

  • Train, mentor and develop staff

  • Maximize profit while minimizing risk

  • Manage marketing and proposal preparation

  • Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and ensure the technical quality of documents as well as responses to the clients comments.

  • Anticipate potential budget and schedule impacts and initiates plans for alternative actions

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with NY Metro Agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NJDOT, MTA

  • Understanding of Marketing in NY Metro Environment

  • NY Professional Engineer (PE) and / or NJ Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Masters of Science Engineering
