AECOM Design Technology Specialist III in New York City, New York

Job Summary

AECOM is hiring a Digital Technology Specialist for our innovative and growing Digital Solutions department located in NYC. The Digital Solutions Department is comprised of architects, engineers, developers and programmers. As a Design Technology Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting project teams through application of BIM technologies. The Design Technology Specialist will leverage strong knowledge of AEC industry standards, tools and practices to support and improve workflow collaboration and efficiencies throughout project delivery.

For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide training and technical support to design staff on Building Information Modeling systems

  • Act as a support resource for core design technologies

  • Can be a resource and team member in all phases of the project

  • Maintains current knowledge of design software, industry developments in integrated practice, and other applicable techniques

  • Devotes time to research new and upcoming technologies

  • Utilizes specialist knowledge to conduct complex modeling, data management, analysis and/or optimization for architectural and engineering designs

  • Ability to self-manage and deliver assigned tasks, projects and group initiatives in an efficient manner

  • When and where applicable, coordinate support between external vendors and internal staff

  • Support efforts in development, testing and implementation of design tools and services

  • Support the development and implementation interoperability workflows between various design applications/platforms

  • Create and review Design Technology learning materials

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, information technology or a related discipline required. and 4+ years of progressive experience in BIM/3D Modeling, with a focus on Autodesk Software Suite

  • Expertise in Revit

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge in building information modeling programs and applicable techniques

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite

  • Experience with a variety of BIM software including but not limited to: Navisworks, BIM360 Design Suite, Assemble, and Plangrid

  • Experience with a variety of design software including but not limited to: Rhino, Vray, Lumion, Unity, Unreal, Twinmotion, AutoCAD, and Formit.

  • Knowledge and experience in the disciplines within the AEC industry

  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Experience with Bentley Open Buildings is a plus

  • Familiarity with Autodesk Revit API & Dynamo, as well as Grasshopper for Rhino, are pluses.
