AECOM’s Energy business line provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. As a fully accredited Energy Services Company (ESCO), we connect knowledge and experience across our global technical network to solve energy’s most complex challenges. Our team’s integrated framework brings together a unique combination of engineers, planners, scientists, and project managers to enhance electrical system infrastructure, reduce energy use, and generate energy on-site from traditional and renewable sources.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Work directly with the national business line senior management team assisting in the support of business development and operations management.

  • Perform financial, economic, and qualitative data collection and analyses of a variety of projects and programs across Energy and Power

  • Create and manage spreadsheets and databases

  • Create reports and presentations in both Excel and PowerPoint and perform various analytic tasks to support strategy. Business/financial planning, and operations

  • Responsible for collecting data and preparing various forecasts on key Project and Program financial metrics on a monthly basis and quarterly basis across the entire Energy project and program portfolio

  • Monitor the status of projects and programs, with the ability to understand their relationship and potential impacts to both operational and financial performance

  • Support corporate initiatives and projects and attend meetings with Energy BL management to track and follow up on action items

  • Conduct research and analysis, prepare reports and make recommendations based on findings

  • Coordinate with business lines and corporate departments to collect and analyze data to prepare reports required by senior management

  • Support project managers in developing reports in Excel-based company software systems

Level specific responsibilities:

  • Manages one or more less complex projects, involving a combination of the following:

  • Clients with a small or local geographic footprint; OR,

  • Projects involving limited services provided by a local IE office, OR;

  • Other complexities, on a limited basis, such as projects that involve litigation, due diligence, financial reconciliation, etc.

  • May mange certain phases of projects only

  • Generally working under the supervision of a senior Project Manager/Program Manager or above, or a Regional Manger

  • Within individual’s area of responsibility, consistently identifies potential project problems or opportunities in a proactive manner, analyzes the issues using all appropriate resources, develops alternatives and arrives at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities

  • Makes sound, well-informed and objective decisions relating to assigned project with a strong understanding of the impact and implications of decisions

  • Manages project resources

  • Advises/mentors less experienced staff on project management skills

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS plus 0 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience strongly preferred

  • Relevant experience within the construction, energy, engineering, consulting, financial project analysis, etc. fields

  • Client facing experience preferred
