AECOM Disaster Response Logistics & Supply Chain Manager in New Orleans, Louisiana

Job Summary

AECOM seeks an experienced Manager to develop, monitor, and maintain AECOM’s Disaster Response network to include internal resources, key hires and a network of suppliers, equipment vendors, and response firms. The main objective of this role is to provide ready-state operations to support a rapid and efficient deployment of resources to Federal, State and Local clients in response to natural or man-made disasters or emergencies.

The Response Manager is a high-visibility role that provides National Governments, Disaster Response Solutions (DRS) Business Lines and Regional Operations with immediate Disaster Response service support specifically tailored to pending urgent and compelling response. The Response Manager will be an integral participant on AECOM’s Disaster Response Team reporting to the Disaster Resilience Solutions PMO.

  • Refine and implement the company’s strategy for response projects and programs

  • Develop a system for resource management to include tracking of internal resources and identification of key hires and strategic teaming opportunities.

  • Manage credentialling and vetting of personnel

  • Develop Training Plans to maintain proficiency.

  • Identification of operational risks that may impede client response or project implementation

  • Coordination with IT department to manage security requirements

  • Develop and implement a system for records management, as needed

  • Work with the Supply Chain Manager to create and maintain the company’s supply chain network

  • Optimize logistical support to ensure cost effectiveness and it functions well. Specifically oversee and maintain supply chain inventory and records and collaborate with vendors to ensure all operations (e.g. shipping, delivery) meet quality and safety standards

  • and resolve issues in a timely manner

  • Collaborate with the broader AECOM enterprise to create vendor response plans tailored to a variety of disaster response scenarios

  • Work with AECOM Safety professionals to incorporate the necessary safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain (e.g. use of trucks, forklifts, etc)

  • Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and federal procurement standards

  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to land more profitable deals

  • Develop KPIs and KPI reports and dashboards to meet organizational objectives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or similar field that aligns with the role of this position.

  • 8 years of experience in Supply Chain Management working in an urgent and compelling environment with US Federal or State/Municipal government agencies on disaster response programs. Or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Periodic travel may be required throughout CONUS and on rare occasions OCONUS Travel driven by project and opportunity needs.

  • Due to the nature of the role, US citizenship is required.

  • Ability to function as an active team player and leader in a diverse multidisciplinary environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a managerial role working in an urgent and compelling environment with US Federal or State/Municipal government agencies on disaster response programs

  • In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain Management

  • Working experience of relevant software

  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Expert negotiation skills

  • Expertise in federal disaster response

  • Knowledge and/or willingness to quickly learn and adapt to AECOM's entire portfolio

  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal Procurement rules and regulations

  • Previous experience as a supply chain manager or in a similar field

  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Creative problem-solving

  • A strategic and analytical mind

  • Extra consideration will be given to candidates that have a working knowledge of key Federal Disaster Response Contracts: LOGCAP; AFCAP; NAVFAC GCC; NAVFAC GCSC; USACE ACI (Power, Debris, Blue roof); and USACE RDI
