Job Summary
We are actively seeking applications for the role of Chief Electrical Engineer for a major transportation project. The key responsibilities include :
Review the FS and assess electricity supply and lighting design for detailed design, including the applied design codes, design conditions including environmental requirements, and type of lighting.
In collaboration with the highway road engineers, develop a program of site investigation for confirming the electricity supply points.
Confirm with MMRDA all design conditions including design code and requirements
Conduct the full basic plan for electricity supply and lighting before the detailed design for the Client’s approval
Conduct the detailed design of the lighting and electricity supply based on the approved basic design
Provide guidance to the CAD operator for preparation of drawings and check the drawing prepared by the operator.
Review and check the bill of quantities prepared by local electrical engineer
Prepare the appropriate technical specifications as a part of the bid documents for lighting design, including miscellaneous facilities.
Prepare the answers to inquiries from the bidder during the Tender Assistance Period, and evaluate the technical part of the bid documents together with TL and Procurement Specialist
Review the method statement of lighting equipment and facility works submitted by the contractor and provide comments or give no-objection.
Review and Check the quality of the works at site as well as inspection sheets prepared by the inspector, and provide necessary instruction if any.
Check the interim payment claim from the contractor to support the Quantity Surveyor.
Provide draft variation order in bridge structure when necessary of the design change.
Support the Claim specialist to analyze the claims for cost increase or time extension from the contractor
Support the Team Leader to issue the Taking overcertificate and completion certificate in terms of bridge structures
Participate in the meeting with relevant authorities/the client/contractor when required.
Provide a part of the reports to be submitted to the Client in terms of the bridge works.
Ensure full and detailed permanent site records, which will include site correspondence, survey data, quality acceptance data, site diaries, measurement andcertification, minutes of meetings, and records of all other contractually relevant matters.
Check the as-build drawings submitted by the contractor
Enforce ethics and compliance policy including Third Party payment, Sub-consultancy engagement process and Gift and Entertainment policy
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 20 years’ experience in the infrastructure projects
Prior experience in Highway bridges projects would be an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in similar projects.
