Job Summary

The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer III to join our team in the Morrisville, NC office. The ideal candidate would have experience in the full range of activities associated with the design, bidding, and construction of water/wastewater infrastructure. This position offers significant opportunity for professional growth, including the opportunity to refine existing skills and add new professional skills such as planning, permitting, design, bidding, construction, and rehabilitation of water conveyance, wastewater collection, and pumping stations. In addition there will be an opportunity to lead teams, and interface with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public. Candidates with a positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative will integrate well with our existing group of outstanding professionals.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering discipline

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Professional Engineering License in NC or the ability to obtain a NC PE through reciprocity within 3 months

  • Must be able to manage complex tasks and lead teams in the field and office environment

  • Must have the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with technicians, designers, engineers and project managers for the preparation of high quality work products

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Google Maps, and other common business software and web-based applications

  • Must be able to travel on business periodically, generally for periods not to exceed 1-3 days

  • Must be able to interface comfortably with clients, lead client meetings, and conduct oral presentations

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive rental vehicles on behalf of the company

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with engineering software such as CAD and hydraulic modeling applications

  • Staff management experience

  • Experience in preparation of engineering proposals
