Position Title Senior Accounting Clerk

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Accounting Clerk for our Morrisville, NC location.

The Senior Clerk reports directly to the Finance Manager or Production Manager, based on task. This position is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of strong financial controls and reporting, performing reconciling financial activities and interoperable reciprocity settlements, and working directly with the Manager to provide all required information for accounting, productivity, volume and hours used reporting and inquiry purposes.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Assists with daily reconciliations.

  • Assists with the management of interoperability reporting and settlement processes.

  • Assists with processing and managing the non-sufficient funds (NSF) returned-item process, customer refunds and credit card charge-backs.

  • Assists with preparation of monthly client invoices and financial reports.

  • Assists with preparation of monthly staffing productivity and payroll reports.

  • Assists with subcontract administration.

  • Assists with development of program controls and reports.

  • Assists with accounts payable functions.

  • Performs audit and accounting functions.

  • Develops measures by which to analyze toll collection methods.

  • Assists with development of reports and monitoring of revenue collection activities.

  • Assists with development of finance SOPs and ensures compliance.

  • Performs revenue reconciliation and financial reporting.

  • Records, transcribes and prepares written reports and records minutes from various meetings.

  • Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and developments and facilitates application of such as appropriate.

  • Supports implementation of Quality Program and Plan.

  • Performs various other tasks as assigned or warrante

Minimum Requirements

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

This is a journey level position with 2 years of related work experience

  • Demonstrated ability to:

  • Apply knowledge of finance / accounting / reporting concepts, principles and techniques to analyze data and otherwise assist the Manager in managing the Service Center’s activities.

  • Understand accounting records, document procedures, and processes.

  • Prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, policies, procedures, and other materials for presentation verbally or in writing.

  • Organize, prioritize, and direct multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner and organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines.

  • Operate modern office equipment including computer equipment and specialized software applications including the Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated, advanced skills using MS Excel are also required.

  • Use effective communication skills in person, over the telephone, and in writing.

  • Use tact, initiative, prudence, and independent judgment within general policy, procedural, and legal guidelines.

  • Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with staff and those contacted during work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with Deltek Time Management System and/or TMS (Time Management System)

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) in Business from a four-year college or university

  • Two years of experience in the management and reporting of financial systems
