AECOM Risk and Resilience Scientist in Morrisville, North Carolina

Performs standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
Detects problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc.
Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
Proposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Works under general supervision.
Ideal candidate will have 2-5 years’ experience
Must have a BS degree in Environmental Science or a related curriculum
Must have strong analytical skills and an aptitude for learning new software
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Maps, and other common business software and web-based applications
Must be able to conduct field work, tolerate variable environmental conditions, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive rental vehicles on behalf of the company
Must be able to travel on business periodically for periods of up to two weeks
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work collaboratively in teams and independently when necessary
Experience with ESRI suite of GIS software products including ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcToolbox.
Knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS)
Experience implementing the AWWA J100 Risk Assessment Methodology for Water and Wastewater
Experience developing emergency response plans
Experience organizing and facilitating stakeholder engagement events, workshops, and training.
