The Water Division of AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer /Project Manager for immediate employment in the GTA area.
Location is flexible – we have offices in Markham, Mississauga, Kitchener, Hamilton and Whitby!.
The appropriately qualified applicant will have an opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of interesting water resources projects that include stormwater and watershed management and modelling, environmental assessments, hydrology, hydraulics, stream rehabilitation / natural channel design, in-field assessments and monitoring. Skills you will likely use or develop in this job include project management, hydraulic and hydrologic modelling, water quality and quantity monitoring, data analysis, and report / proposal writing all in a friendly, fast-paced consulting engineering work environment at AECOM. This role offers the right candidate the potential for a fast upwards career progression within AECOM.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Working directly with the group manager, project engineers, fluvial geomorphologists, ecologists, less experienced and support staff on projects related to Water Resources, mostly within Ontario
Responsible for projects including communicating with client, meetings, project management, completing technical analysis and reviews, preparing reports and proposals, conceptual / preliminary and detailed designs of stormwater management infrastructure
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources or Civil Engineering + 8+ years of water resources experience in Ontario,
5+ years of project management experience
Registered as a P. Eng with the PEO
Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of water resources experience
Experience delegating to less experienced staff is an asset
Design and construction experience related to transportation/ transit infrastructure, stormwater and/or erosion and slope stability projects will be considered an asset
Experience including preparation of cost estimates and tender packages as well as contract administration
Experience with Fluvial Geomorphology / Natural Channel design would be considered a strong asset
Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling would be an asset
PMP Designation
Knowledge of water resources policies and practices in Ontario
Experience with various water resources modeling programs e.g. HEC-RAS, SWMM, SWMHYMO, VISUAL OTTHYMO, InfoWorks, etc
Experience in proposal preparation including determining work scope, preparing time task breakdowns and preparing text sections on technical approach, team and project experience, etc.
Interested and capable to take on Project Management duties (schedule and budget control, client contact, proposal writing etc.)
Ability to learn quickly, communicate effectively and work with others is essential
Strong computer skills including advanced working knowledge of GIS, Word and Excel
Must possess excellent organizational, communication and writing skills
