AECOM Senior Scheduler - Alternative Delivery in Mississauga, Ontario

Job Summary

Aecom Mississauga is looking for a Senior Scheduler to add to their growing ADG team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

o Provides support in the areas of project controls, scheduling, scheduling analysis (including critical path and schedule risk analysis), earned value management, and construction activities in support of projects

o Supervises, provides guidance to and coordinates efforts of schedulers

o Assigns projects to entry and mid-level schedulers

o Resolves high level issues

o Interfaces with project management

o Coordinates development of baseline target schedules, fiscal year schedules, and program schedules

o Provides complex analysis to determine impacts on the program schedule

o Provides oversight and incorporation of contract schedules into the integrated schedule

o Provides support in reconciliation of impacts of proposed changes of scope, schedule and cost

o Analyzes project planning and schedule updates as well as delays

o May provide project metrics

o Prepares complex reports

o Resolves scheduling conflicts

o May provide independent general drafting and research work relating to more complicated areas of the project

o Implements and follows the Quality Assurance Program procedures

o Perform other project controls duties as assigned

o Skilled in the use of company cornerstone systems and able to represent cost data formats necessary to control the project.

o Understands financial terminology and measures and recognizes the financial impact of various project actions.

o Participates in analyzing and using financial data to identify key project issues.

o May assist in leading junior staff through assignment tasks.

o Participates in tracking action items.

o Able to use drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data.

o Knowledgeable of accounting principles with extensive understanding of the manner in which the company establishes and documents the financial position.

o Prepares revised cost forecast for select accounts.

o Prepares analysis of progress trends and cost impact. May participate in reviewing and approving contractor invoices.

o Works hands on with earned value monitoring.

o Evaluates manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations including preparation of variance analysis.

o Compares actual cost to funding limitations. Prepares expenditure forecasts to identify critical points in project funding.

o Reviews purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures. Maintains tracking database to insure that subcontractor funding is aligned with work authorization and expenditures.

o Understands the manner in which profits on projects are budgeted and the extent to which the budget value is achieved.

o Possesses the knowledge of scope control and change management. Involved in the tracking system to insure that project management is fully aware of detailed change order status.

o Creates and assists with cost/schedule baseline budgets.

o Familiar with basic cost/schedule integration and basic critical path analysis and other rescheduling concepts.

o Conducts or assists in performance measurement and associated cost trending.

o Prepares and assists in various levels of project reporting.

o Participates in and may lead project cost review meetings.

o Assists in procedure development and implementation.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor Degree + 6 years of related experience or Diploma/Certificate + 8 YORE or Highschool + 10 YORE

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of scheduling experience

  • Proficient in the creation of resource and cost loaded schedules in Primavera P6 Professional

  • Able to work independently in the development of high-level schedules

  • Able to read and interpret drawings for the development of schedules

  • Must be able to “interpret” the needs of the project in order to determine the best method to produce the desired graphic and/or schedule

  • Must be able to see a project through from start to finish, and recognize when assistance is required from others

  • Good management and organizational skills with the ability to work on several projects at one time to meet critical deadlines

  • Ability to be a team-player and work with others in the department as necessary

  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal with Project Staff and/or Clients

  • Ability to be a team-player and work with others as necessary to get the task done

  • Able to perform in fast paced environment

  • Work location flexibility within GTA desirable

  • Project related travel anticipated
