Aecom Mississauga is hiring a Lead, LRT Design and Engineering as part of a growing team.
Refers to the field of engineering dealing with design and engineering of LRT Projects.
Specialist/Leadership role in coordinating new pursuits, planning, execution and delivery of concept, preliminary or detailed design and drawings for LRT, transit and heavy rail
Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.
Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering.
Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.
Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.
Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.
Manages group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
8+ years of demonstrated experience
P. Eng. Designation is required
Extensive experience in design and engineering of LRT track alignments, track structure, grading, drainage
Extensive experience in preparation of technical documentation: Specifications, PSOS
Experience designing special trackwork
Experience in Scheduling and Cost Estimating
Experience with Permit applications and coordination of third party stakeholders
Experience with railway business and contractual agreements
Experience with Railway Rules and Regulations, Safety and Operating Procedures
In depth knowledge of design and engineering standards for LRT, transit and heavy rail: TCRP, AREMA, EN, Metrolinx or TTC
Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary, multi-offices environment, coordinating with various technical disciplines
Ability to evaluate technical alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other disciplines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving and analytical skills
Technical writing and delivering presentations to clients, operators and regulators
Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D and/or MicroStation and Bentley InRoads
