AECOM Geotechnical Technician in Mississauga, Ontario

Job Summary

AECOM’s Environment Business Line is currently seeking a Geotechnical Technician to join our team of professionals in our Mississauga, ON office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage site inspections and field investigations involving soil and rock drilling, monitoring well installations, borehole instrumentation, soil and groundwater sampling, pump testing, and geotechnical testing

  • Communicate with the Project Team on work progress, health and safety management, schedule, and costs

  • Carry out soil and aggregate material testing in a CCIL certified laboratory

  • Provide support in interpretation of field investigations, geotechnical testing results, and report preparation

  • Work with the team on projects in the GTA, and collaborate on projects across Ontario

The appropriately qualified candidate will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative multinational team focused on delivery of superior services to our clients. This is a challenging position for a self-motivated individual that offers an excellent opportunity for career growth.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent

  • 5+ years of geotechnical experience

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage time effectively

  • Willingness to work flexible hours under a variety of conditions

  • Must possess a valid class G driver’s license

  • Access to a personal vehicle, mileage to be reimbursed

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCIL Certification for Soil, Aggregate and Concrete testing

  • Fluency in written and spoken French is an asset​
