Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Mechanical Design Manager for immediate employment for the Minneapolis, MN office.

AECOM's network of talented professionals is creating a Center of Excellence in Minneapolis that will support the planning, design and construction oversight of facilities related to the health-care and commercial market sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the mechanical engineering design for hospitals, clinics, offices, and other building types.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interact with clients

  • Investigate codes, standards, and new technology

  • Mentor less experienced designers and drafters

  • Coordinate HVAC&P systems with other engineering disciplines and across multiple offices

  • Perform construction inspections and create detailed reports

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ year’s relevant experience in design of complex facilities required.

  • Healthcare facility design experience

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

  • Well-developed communication skills

  • Strong team leadership skills

  • Thorough working knowledge of relevant engineering software.

  • Can-do, will-do attitude and ability to work in team-oriented organization

  • Windows, Excel, Word, Trace 700 (or other energy modeling software)

  • Extensive Revit and AutoCAD

  • Candidate will work in the Minneapolis office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or two-year HVAC design school certificate

  • Construction phase experience: submittal reviews, on-site inspections, RFIs, change orders, etc. Plumbing and Medical Gas design experience for hospitals.
