Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Roadway / Bridge Group Manager to join our growing Transportation Department in Minneapolis, MN.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead both our Roadway and Bridge groups

  • Serve as a project manager for the development of plans, specifications, and estimates for large scale preliminary and final design projects

The appropriately qualified candidate must have a track record of developing business with MnDOT, and other clients such as the City of Minneapolis, Metropolitan Council, Metro Transit, or other public agencies. Previous experience should include development of preliminary and final design plan sets, special provisions, and cost estimates for the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Management experience on Design Build or CMGC projects is also strongly desired.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • 10+ years of Minnesota roadway and/ or bridge design experience with at least 5 years experience managing professional staff

  • Licensed professional engineer in Minnesota

  • Experience with MnDOT State Aid Standards

  • Positive problem solver with a flexible approach to your work, committed to excellence, motivated, and a strong team player

  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to conduct and lead meetings with staff, clients, and stakeholders as needed

  • Experience in the preparation of preliminary and final design plans for urban and rural highways or bridges

  • Experience writing successful proposals and fee estimates for MnDOT highway and/or bridge work

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of Minnesota roadway and/ or bridge design experience

  • Experience with MnDOT CADD Standards

  • Experience with Microstation and Geopak software

  • Experience in the preparation of preliminary and final design of roundabouts and highway interchanges

  • Experience with Autodesk software including AutoCAD, Infraworks, and Civil 3D

  • Experience in Design Build or CMGC Project Management
