AECOM Mid-Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Fully qualified scientist. Utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Requires general familiarity within a broad field of scientific knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
Solves problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.
Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.
Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance.
Participates in developing corrective measures and procedures. Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation.
B.S. in geology or related scientific discipline.
40hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
Knowledge of MPCA soil and groundwater standards and guidance documents.
Experience in developing remedial investigations, response action plans, and response action implementation plans.
Knowledge of environmental data collection, investigation, and data entry skills.
Knowledge of Upper-Midwest geology and/or environmental chemistry.
Proficiency in using pumps, field instruments, and mechanical skills are beneficial.
Strong communication skills, the ability to write, and the ability convey thoughts and ideas clearly.
Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions, and the confidence to ask questions to grasp objectives.
Ability and enthusiasm to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to work proficiently with MS Office products and organize data clearly.
Valid Driver’s License.
Successful candidates will be self-motivated and able to balance work schedule.
Master's degree preferred
Prefer 3 to 6 years experience in due diligence, contaminant investigations, hydrogeology, and/or environmental sampling and technical report writing.
Experience completing Phase I and Phase II ESA corridor studies.
Experience completing environmental construction oversight.
