Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Industrial Wastewater Engineer with experience in compliance, permitting, and design for water related projects, focusing on industrial wastewater, storm water, process water, groundwater, leachate, drinking water, and related residuals. The appropriately qualified applicant must be able to demonstrate an established career in water/wastewater management and design, including permitting, auditing, and bench- and pilot-scale treatability testing. Candidate should have at least ten years of related project experience and a past history of successfully managing projects with demonstrated client management skills.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical project work related to industrial water/wastewater management and design

  • Treatability testing laboratory management, including work plan development, safe work practices, report writing, and hands on testing.

  • Manage projects including budgeting, scheduling, billing, and resource allocation

  • Lead teams of experienced design engineers and project professionals

  • Interface with clients during development of the work product and be accountable for project development and client satisfaction

  • Develop safe work plans and work with quality management systems

  • Support business development personnel with technical proposal preparation, marketing and presentation activities

  • Market and grow the private sector in the Midwest

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering - preferably Civil, Water or Environmental

  • 10+ years of water/wastewater engineering experience

  • PE or the ability to attain for the state of WI within 6 months of hire

  • Industrial Water / Wastewater management, auditing and permitting experience

  • Experience with developing proposals, schedules, and budgets

  • Interest and demonstrated skills in marketing, presentations and client interaction.

  • Must be able to pass AECOM Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience
