AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Traffic Engineer/Transportation Planning Engineer for employment in the Middleton, WI office. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead traffic capacity analysis for Major Projects

  • Microsimulation modeling in VISSIM

  • Application of innovative technologies to projects

  • Freeway / Intersection alternative evaluations

  • Traffic data analysis

  • Safety assessments and corridor reviews

  • Traffic impact studies

  • Route location planning and feasibility studies

  • Design of traffic control devices

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a transportation focus

  • 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering or transportation planning

  • Wisconsin PE required (or able to obtain within 6 months)

  • Willing to work within a multidisciplinary group, and mentor junior staff

  • Organizational skills including the ability to communicate with clients and agencies both verbally and through written correspondence are a must

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management experience

  • PTOE certification

  • 10+ years of experience

  • Experience leading traffic studies and working with design teams on large projects is preferred
