AECOM HSSE Supervisor in Mexico City, Mexico

Job Summary

AECOM Mexico is in need of a HSSE Supervisor, as it has been awarded as the EPCM Consultant for the design, procurement and construction of the national service stations program in Mexico. Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Supervisor will be part of a multidisciplinary team of professionals supervising various gasoline service station renovation and construction projects.

Essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee and manage the project site’s compliance with HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environmental) standards in all levels (Regulatory, Shell and AECOM requirements).

  • Is aware and responsible for complying with Safety as per AECOM’s and project specifics requirements and policies.

  • Knows in deep the Shell Procedures and requirements. Responsible on site for establishing the PTW, JHA and Sit Clearance Permits, after performing adequate Risk Analysis and making sure that proper PPE, equipment and procedures are in place.

  • Leads and supervises Red Zone, Green Zone and Blue Zone implementation

  • Supervises the Construction Works of Civil, Architectural and Mechanical packages, making sure that they meet the HSSE Standards and requirements

  • Provides day to day support, information and reports as required for meetings, coordination and resolution of HSSE issues

  • Manages the contract of selected contractors. Reports and approves Safety stats as needed.

  • Carry out QA checks of documentation completed by the L3s producing required HSSE files and their required support as per Client’s requirements

  • Maintain a reliable and consistent written and verbal communication interface with Client, Technicians, Engineers and Contractors

  • Liaison with other contractors, companies, suppliers and internal / external multi-disciplined engineering teams

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or comparable Health, Safety, Security & Environmental studies

  • 8+ Years in construction and industrial safety experience or equivalent combinations training and related experience

  • Member of HSSE Industry body

  • NEBOSH/OSHA, OSHA-10 Construction Safety, OSHAS 18001-2007 Security Systems and Health , ISO 14001-2004 Environmental Systems.Expert Knowledge of construction methods and practices, local safety and environmental law and regulation

  • Expert in recognition of unsafe conditions, practices or behaviors, and to take appropriate corrective action measures.

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.

  • Ability to clearly express thoughts both verbally and in writing.

  • Proficient in use of personal computer including basic office soft applications such as: e-mail, word, processing, or accounting

  • Strong skills in written and spoken communication in English and Spanish

  • Organizational skills

  • Flexibility to work, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with service petrol/gas service station renovation and construction is ideal.

  • Experience working with a multi-national company and in the oil and gas construction sector.
