Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, creative, highly talented Cost Manager for immediate employment in the Mexico City, Mexico office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

General tasks:

  • Monitoring all Sub-Contract, Invoices and Progress Claim

  • Preparing Cost Plans and Budget Reports

  • Reviewing of Proposals, Comparisons and Contract Drafts prior to Sub-Contract award

  • Recording all necessary information for potential Claims, Variations and Extensions for Time

  • Maintaining a Commercial Risk Register and preparing reports

  • Checking and controlling all Interim Valuations

  • Assisting the Commercial & procurement Manager with Monthly Reports

  • Assisting with Final Accounts

Detailed tasks:

  • Assisting with the Preparation of the Cost plan / Budget for construction and all associated costs

  • Assisting with the Issuance of Tender to all Contractors

  • Taking part in bid openings, bid presentations and prepare bid report(s)

  • Managing and evaluating all Value Engineering proposals and prepare reports

  • Commenting on the terms and conditions of the contracts for the Main and Sub-Contract packages

  • Assisting with strategy and negotiations with preferred Contractor(s) to award contract, as required

  • Assisting with the Preparation of the Final Contract documents for client / client’s lawyer review and execution

  • Assisting with preparation of the Commercial procedures and work instruction’s (as necessary)

  • Assisting with reviewing / approving proposed tender lists, PQQ for suppliers/subcontractors/sub-consultants

  • Review tenders from suppliers/subcontractors/sub-consultants

  • Making reports and recommendations on award of suppliers/subcontractors/sub-consultants

  • Responsible for Analysis of valuations

  • Managing material reconciliation process

  • Managing BQ /Bulk Quantities production

  • Analysing and Processing claims

CM Deliverables:

  • Updating the Change Order register

  • Assisting with the Preparation of the Budget

  • Preparing the Cost Plan

  • Assisting with maintaining the Cash Flow Forecast

  • Maintaining a list of current reputable Sub-Contractor’s and Suppliers

  • Setting out a list of Sub-Contract packages required

  • Assisting with the Preparation of the Main and Sub-Contract Tender Documents

  • Preparing claims where required

  • Reviewing design information prior to release and prepare change order if time or cost implications are identified

  • Reviewing all Correspondence / Transmittals / Submittals and assist with appropriate responses

  • Compiling Monthly Valuations and Supporting Documents

  • Assisting with the Submittal of information for monthly report

  • Assisting with the Preparation of the Final account

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any field), Accounting or Business, and other related fields

  • 5+ years of experience working experience in similar position, preferably in international companies

  • High standard of Microsoft Excel

  • 80% bilingual English / Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Construction environment.

  • Experience in financial systems such as SAP and Oracle

  • Process driven, focus on detail and enjoy working with data.

  • Prefered Certified in CMIC

  • Availability to travel (20%)
